At Wageningen University & Research (WUR), strict controls are the backbone of the organization. ‘Our Research Center had been operating under tight guidelines and procedures for quite some time,’ says Ronald Da Costa Senior. ‘As a research institute, we have to meet high standards, and that culture of careful control is deeply embedded in the way we work.’ <\/p>

When the Research Center merged with the university, this control culture spread throughout the organization. To further optimize and manage internal controls more efficiently, WUR became a co-developer of BRiX in 2019. “It was a logical choice to take our control processes to the next level,” Da Costa Senior said. <\/p>

Complete control through data integration<\/h3>

‘What makes BRiX so powerful is its seamless interfacing with our data warehouse,’ Da Costa Senior explains. ‘We can fully tailor specific controls to our processes. Think of automatic notifications when customers pay late or when advances are not processed correctly at a service termination. This automation allows us to quickly and consistently identify risks that would otherwise be easily overlooked.’ <\/p>

Smart trip accounting and strict tax accountability<\/h3>

BRiX also offers complete control over trip administration through an API link to MyFMS, which feeds the data. ‘With BRiX, we now have full visibility into the use of our company cars. For example, if an employee uses the wrong pass and leaves anyway, we wouldn’t normally see it immediately. Thanks to BRiX, fleet managers can take immediate action and ensure that records remain complete and accurate.’ <\/p>

BRiX also offers great benefits from a tax perspective. ‘By closely monitoring business trips, we can convince the Tax Office that our employees are driving strictly for business. These checks show that we do everything we can to keep the trip records completely balanced and transparent from a fiscal point of view.’ <\/p>
